Frances-Anne Johnson, Canadian, 1910-1987; daughter of prominent artist and Group of Seven member Franz Johnston, she received her education at the North Toronto Collegiate and at the Ontario College of Art where she won two scholarships; perhaps best known for her landscape and still life scenes, this is quite a rare subject for the artist; note the painting is matted but not framed (new matting suggested)
