SPRING 2026 FINE ART AUCTION
Thank you to our amazing clients for a spectacular finish to our semi-annual fine art auction! Results proved to be very strong for all periods & genres, but especially for works by historical Canadian artists such as the Group of Seven. We would also like to thank the hundreds of individuals who attended the viewing last week in person at our gallery, and for the media including the London Free Press and CBC for covering this important art auction.
Gardner Galleries is now in the process of collecting consignments for our fall session of fine art, and will be posting the auction to the website shortly.
Our spring 2026 fine art session of Canadian and international fine art featured a 1931 oil on panel by Group of Seven member A.Y. Jackson titled "Saint-Irénée, Quebec" sold for $36,000, a major 20 x 26-inch oil on canvas by A.J. Casson for $58,000, Edwin Holgate oil for $31,000 and a Franklin Carmichael watercolour for $30,000. Other notable artists included Goodridge Roberts, J.W. Beatty, Maurice Cullen, Robert Pilot, Manly MacDonald, Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté, Frances Anne Hopkins, Lucius O'Brien, John B. Wilkinson, Clarence Gagnon, Florence Carlyle, William St. Thomas Smith, Horatio Walker, Frederic Marlett Bell-Smith, Pablo Picasso, Yvonne McKague Housser, Doris McCarthy, Illingworth Holey Kerr, Robert Bateman, James Hergel, Jean Paul Riopelle, Charles Gagnon, Frederick S. Haines, Brian Jones, Homer Watson, Harry Fidler, Hilton Hassell & more.
