Original 1943 silkscreen in colours titled "Isles of Spuce" by Group of Seven member Arthur Lismer (Canadian, 1885-1969), with original Sampson-Matthews Ltd. label verso and engraved presentation plaque to frame, 19 1/2 x 26 3/4in; Note: this was the only work Lismer contributed to Sampson-Matthews, and was one of the best selling images in the collection; the original painting was completed in 1922 and housed in the University of Toronto's Hart House collection; "Isles of Spruce" was also used by Canada Post in 1970 on a 6-cent stamp to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Group of Seven
