Titled verso "A Family Farm", signed lower left, acrylic on paper/card, sight 53.3 x 73.7cm (21 x 29in); Provenance: No. 7 from the artist's "Highways and Biways Series"; this and the following lot are from the same private Ontario collection; Thomas Frederick Haig Chatfield, Canadian, 1921-1999, a prominent 20th century landscape artist who took up painting full-time in 1967, the year this work was executed; Chatfield was also a long-standing member of the Toronto Arts and Letters Club, founding member of the Oakville Art Society, past-president of the Society of Canadian Artists, and also exhibited with the Royal Canadian Academy, Ontario Society of Artists, Art Gallery of Hamilton, Waterloo University, and the Canadian National Exhibition; this is a large scale and important work by the artist, showcasing his unique painting style
